To my wife
We'll kindle the time in our clock
warming ourselves from the cold.
The hours fumble through our hands
soft as balls of yarn.
Let us handle them gently.
Time is so fragile, we must be careful.
And when comes our blackest hour
we'll play a trick
and paint it green.
White won't do.
Time could take offense.
